Senior Investment Accountant

Overview:

Our client, a major mutual insurance company, is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to support their team during a critical period of organizational transition and finance modernization.

This is a W2 hourly interim engagement (3-6 months, potential to extend) requiring immediate availability and deep insurance investment accounting expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the re-standup of GAAP financial reporting within the investment accounting function
• Documentation of control processes and valuation workflows under GAAP
• Perform and document end-to-end investment accounting processes
• Support data extraction and reporting workflows within Clearwater; assist with data integrity and reconciliation
• Partner with investment accounting to assess gaps and stabilize operations
• Contribute to process documentation and knowledge transfer efforts as needed

Qualifications

• 8+ years of investment accounting experience within an insurance company or adjacent financial services firm
• Strong GAAP and STAT reporting background
• Familiarity with Clearwater Analytics
• Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-change environment
• Strong documentation and process mapping skills
• CPA preferred
