Role Overview: Lucas Group has partnered with a leading oil & gas organization on their search for a Senior HRIS Manager to serve as a main point of contact between Human Resources (HR), Benefits, and IT teams in Houston, TX. The Senior HRIS Manager person will set the overall direction of the HRIS system. Essential Functions include the following:

  • Serve as the primary contact for HRIS technical support
  • Coordinate scheduled project meetings with internal team members to ensure all outstanding questions, issues and tasks have been properly communicated and addressed in a timely manner
  • Direct the HR information strategy and determine scope of HRIS system by consulting with human resources, executives, controller, and other management to ascertain organizational needs for payroll, benefits, and human resources related information
  • Direct HR information management budgeting, strategic, tactical planning and database system strategy
  • Assist accounting department in prepare budget for development, implementation, and maintenance of the HR/Payroll Information system
  • Oversee planning and implementation of HRIS system changes; designs system specifications and work with HRIS vendor programmers to develop, enhance and/or modify the HRIS system
  • Prepare progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals
  • Responsible for working with internal management to ensure that internal reporting needs are being met
  • Oversee testing of system for upgrades, conversion of data onto HRIS (in the case of acquiring new regions/programs), and implementation of new system upgrades and interfaces with other systems and locations
  • Monitor HRIS system and all interfaces to ensure they function properly
  • Responsible for the creation of custom reports or working with HRIS vendor in the creation of such reports
  • Serve as first level support for HR/Payroll staff with data and system related issues. If escalation is required work with HRIS vendor’s Technical Support to resolve issues
  • Coordinate with IT resources the upgrade plan
  • Work with other departments within the organization to utilize the HRIS data throughout the organization. This may include at time troubleshooting data issues with the import of data (payroll) and any exports of data.
  • Develop and maintain documentation
  • Analyze areas for business process improvement in relation to the use and keeping of HR Data
  • Conduct internal training with staff, which has been determined to require additional training, on system enhancements and version upgrades
  • Serve as Position Management System Administrator, which includes updating of department, job and positions- code tables

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Computer Science or Business
  • Minimum of 8 years of HRIS experience

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with various HRIS systems including Performance Management, Applicant Tracking System, EEO1 reports creation experience, and Succession Planning
  • Significant HRIS experience in ADP (data entry, plus creating position tables, etc.)
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of database maintenance and information systems
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience communicating with HRIS vendors to analyze, resolve, troubleshoot and prevent system-related issues
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of database maintenance and information systems
  • Strong Excel experience required
