Lucas Group has partnered with a large agriculture business in Eastern Washington, in their search for a Senior Financial Analyst. The company is a leading produce supplier and is growing.
About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will help build the company’s financial planning and analysis function. This position will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and senior management, working cross-functionally to lead long-term strategic planning and annual budget process, prepare ongoing forecasts, and provide reporting and analytical support for business decisions.
What you will do
- Prepare financial forecasts and analysis; analyze financial data and develop models to support business decisions
- Manage annual budget development process based on input from the board, executive management, and department managers
- Coordinate and review monthly company and department level budget vs. actual reporting
- Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- Compare actual results with forecast estimates and consider appropriate changes in future methods and models
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
- Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comparisons
- Reconcile ownership valuation and forecast model to internal company forecast model and budgets
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic qualifications for this role
- Advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business field
- 5+ years finance, accounting, or business experience
