Our client, a manufacturer in the west Houston area, seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to add to their team. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be a key partner to operations and will be responsible to provide financial information to help management make strategic decisions to improve efficiency and business profitability. Sr. Financial Analyst responsibilities include:
- Manage accounting procedures related to month end close process, such us accruals, journal entry preparation, variance analysis, etc.
- Provide operational support with capital equipment authorization, asset management and inventory control
- Perform standard costing review
- Develop strong partnership with operations team and be a key finance partner on various optimization projects to help quantify financial impact
- Responsible for annual budget and forecasting and reporting monthly spend, volume and explain variances to senior management during month end close
- Perform periodic reviews of fixed asset register and work with operations to understand the financial impact of disposals, impairments and new investments
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Business
- 5+ years’ experience in Finance and Accounting with proven experience in financial forecasting and variance analysis
- Experience reviewing / performing standard costing
- Experience with a major ERP package such as JD Edwards / Oracle / SAP
- Advanced Excel experience
