Korn Ferry has partnered with our client in their search for an Interim Import / Export Regulatory Counsel for a bitcoin mining / digital infrastructure company.
Responsibilities
- Advise on import/export, customs, duties, tariffs, and trade compliance issues related to equipment, hardware, infrastructure, and supply chain matters.
- Review and support HTS classification, country-of-origin analysis, import documentation, export controls, sanctions, OFAC, and denied-party screening issues.
- Partner with the General Counsel, finance/tax, operations, logistics, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and outside counsel to manage regulatory questions and keep business needs moving.
Skills Required
- Strong import/export, customs, trade compliance, duties, and tariff experience.
- Experience with HTS classification, country-of-origin rules, import documentation, customs brokers, freight forwarders, CBP, export controls, OFAC, sanctions, and denied-party screening.
- Practical, business-minded approach with the ability to work independently and support a fast-moving infrastructure or equipment-heavy business.
Education & Work Experience
Degree
JD required; active bar admission preferred.
Work Experience
Prior import/export, customs, trade compliance, or international regulatory experience required. Experience with hardware, electronics, industrial equipment, energy equipment, logistics, manufacturing, data centers, infrastructure, or supply chain matters is strongly preferred.
