Our client, a Private Equity Backed manufacturing organization has engaged Lucas Group to identify a Senior Cost Accountant to support one of their largest revenue segments. This role will be responsible for the standard cost accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a manufacturing organizations and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of process improvements. This company has been acquisitive and experience with merger integration would be preferred.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for the cost accounting function including
- Manage and maintain cost accounting system (review/update BOMs, labor and overhead costs)
- Report inventory, PPV, cycle count performance and inventory reconciliation
- Prepare reports to analyze costs, variances and labor efficiency
- Prepares flash reports and quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet forecasts and annual Financial Plans.
- Supports the Corporate internal audit process
- Supports Controller/CFO with special projects as assigned
- Participates in process improvement initiatives
- Aids in establishing and performing internal control guidelines and testing
- Contributes to the development of internal financial policies and procedures
- Maintains well-documented work papers and instructions for journal entries and account reconciliations
- Organizes and reviews various accounting reports
- Assists in coordination of annual budget and periodic forecasting
- Ad-hoc projects & reporting as assigned
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CMA or the equivalent is preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience to include standard cost accounting
- Strong experience with ERPs systems
- Advanced Excel
