Overview:

Our Client is hiring a Senior AWS Cloud Network Infrastructure Engineer to help define and implement cloud networking best practices and architecture at enterprise scale. In this consulting-level role, you will influence cloud network strategy, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, mentor engineers, and ensure our AWS network infrastructure is secure, scalable, resilient, observable, and cost-efficient.

This is a hands-on technical role with significant ownership-ideal for someone who enjoys shaping standards, driving proven patterns, and improving reliability and cost governance in a mature AWS environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and deploy scalable, secure, highly available AWS network infrastructure
  • Own and optimize AWS networking services including VPC (including Shared VPC), VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, Direct Connect, Route 53, and related routing/connectivity patterns
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices using AWS Network Firewall, WAF, Security Groups, NACLs, IAM-aware network design, VPNs, and Shield Advanced
  • Support hybrid and security edge patterns (including firewall implementations such as Palo Alto on EC2, where applicable)
  • Build automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible, plus scripting in Python/Bash/PowerShell
  • Integrate network infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Drive strong observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, Coralogix
  • Lead and/or support incident response and outage troubleshooting for network-related issues
  • Produce clear network documentation and diagrams; communicate designs and tradeoffs effectively
  • Perform cost analysis and optimization-identify network cost drivers and implement efficiency improvements
  • Ensure cloud network solutions align with internal compliance and governance standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous learning/innovation in cloud networking

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT/networking experience, including 5+ years in AWS cloud engineering/architecture
  • Deep expertise in AWS networking and best practices, including:
    • VPC, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, Direct Connect, Route 53
    • Security Groups, NACLs, WAF, Shield Advanced, AWS Network Firewall
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and services: BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs
  • Strong background in network security principles and controls
  • Advanced automation/IaC skills with Terraform and CloudFormation (Ansible a plus)
  • Scripting proficiency in Python (Bash/PowerShell also acceptable)
  • Monitoring/logging experience with CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, Coralogix (or similar)
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
  • Strong communication skills-able to explain technical concepts in business terms and document clearly
  • Tenacity and attention to detail; comfortable identifying risks and overcoming obstacles

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (or equivalent)
