Senior Business Analyst - Integrations, Data Pipeline & Decommissioning (SIS Replacement)

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale Student Information System (SIS) Replacement initiative. This role will focus on system integrations, data migration, data pipelines, and legacy system decommissioning efforts across the program.

The Senior Business Analyst will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, architects, developers, and data teams to ensure technical requirements are documented, data conversion activities are properly planned, and integration strategies align with the overall SIS architecture. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with technical expertise in integrations, data mapping, ETL processes, and enterprise system transformations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis efforts for integrations, data pipelines, and system decommissioning workstreams
  • Gather, analyze, and document technical and functional requirements
  • Facilitate workshops and requirements sessions with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and data teams
  • Develop technical requirements documentation, data mappings, and integration specifications
  • Support data conversion, migration, and validation activities
  • Define and document current-state and future-state data flows
  • Partner with technical teams to align requirements with enterprise architecture standards
  • Coordinate legacy system decommissioning and transition planning efforts
  • Track dependencies, risks, decisions, and technical action items
  • Support testing, cutover planning, and implementation activities

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise technology initiatives
  • Strong experience with system integrations, APIs, and data migration projects
  • Experience creating technical requirements documents, data mappings, and interface specifications
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, and system-to-system integrations
  • Experience facilitating technical requirements discovery sessions
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in complex, cross-functional environments
  • Experience supporting large-scale system implementation, modernization, or transformation programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Student Information System (SIS) experience
  • Higher Education industry experience
  • Experience supporting ERP implementation or modernization initiatives
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and integration patterns
  • Experience with legacy system decommissioning and application retirement strategies
  • Understanding of SQL, data governance, and data modeling concepts
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools
  • CBAP or related Business Analysis certification

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Facilitate technical requirements and integration workshops
  • Create and maintain data mapping and transformation documentation
  • Analyze interfaces, APIs, and data flows
  • Coordinate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders
  • Support migration, testing, and validation activities
  • Track requirements, dependencies, risks, and decisions
  • Assist with cutover and decommissioning planning
