Business Analyst
6-Month Contract | Remote
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a fast-paced transformation programme within a regulated environment. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements, improve processes and support the successful delivery of strategic change initiatives. The role is fully remote on an initial six-month contract. This spec is based on the responsibilities and skills outlined in the source document, with client-specific details removed.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
- Produce clear business requirements, user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Analyse current and future-state business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Review and document operational processes, controls and governance requirements.
- Create process maps and recommend improvements to drive operational efficiency.
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and development teams throughout delivery.
- Support solution design by investigating issues and defining business requirements.
- Work with stakeholders to prioritise requirements and manage expectations.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business readiness, training and implementation activities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained to a high standard throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience working as a Business Analyst on business change or technology transformation programmes.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Proven ability to write high-quality user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Strong business process analysis and process mapping experience (Visio or similar).
- Experience facilitating workshops with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments; exposure to Waterfall delivery is also beneficial.
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Confluence or similar collaboration platforms.
- Experience supporting testing, business readiness and change activities.
- Experience working within financial services or another regulated industry would be advantageous.
Desirable
- Experience working on large-scale business or digital transformation programmes.
- Understanding of operational risk, governance and control frameworks.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
