Senior Adviser, Private Credit & Transaction Financing

We have partnered with our client in the private equity space on their search for a senior, part-time adviser to support the financing of lower-middle-market acquisitions. This individual will bring current relationships across private credit, sponsor finance, BDCs, banks and alternative lenders, along with the judgment to assess whether a transaction is financeable before an offer is submitted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review potential acquisitions for bankability and financing risk
  • Advise on debt structure, leverage, pricing, covenants and capital-stack alternatives
  • Identify the most relevant lenders for each transaction
  • Make targeted, relationship-based introductions to financing sources
  • Participate in lender discussions and help position complex or nontraditional credits
  • Compare financing proposals and provide market-based guidance
  • Improve acquisition criteria and underwriting based on current financing conditions
  • Advise on the use of senior debt, private credit, mezzanine financing, seller notes and outside equity

Ideal Background

  • Senior experience in private credit, sponsor finance, leveraged finance, BDC investing or lower-middle-market lending
  • Established relationships with lenders providing approximately $10 million to $75 million of capital
  • Strong credit, underwriting and transaction-structuring expertise
  • Experience financing acquisitions in the $15 million to $100 million enterprise-value range
  • Ability to communicate with authority and credibility in lender and executive discussions
  • Comfortable advising across a variety of industries and transaction structures

Working Model

This is initially expected to be a fractional engagement of approximately 10-20 hours per week.
