Senior Accountant

We have partnered with our Non-profit client in their search for a Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities -

• Deferred Revenue & Revenue Recognition:

  • Understanding of deferred revenue and revenue recognition.
  • Focus on timing and straight-line methods.
  • Apply different formulas for subscriptions and membership services, and handle weighted lines of membership accounts.

• Grant Accounting:

  • Manage and oversee grants, requiring strong understanding of grant accounting.
  • Analyze program elements, map out revenues and expenses.
  • Understand grant agreements, budgets, and timelines for program elements and payments.

• Expense & Revenue Ledger:

  • Handle month-end close reviews for the expense and revenue sides of the ledger.
  • Work with current Senior Accountant, Payroll Manager, and Controller to review team work.
  • Use Sage Intacct for accounting processes.

Skills Required

• Grant Management Experience:
  • ???????Familiarity with private and federal grants.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with the development team.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison, providing clear technical accounting guidance.

• Non-Profit Experience:

  • Understanding of subscriptions and revenue processes in a non-profit context.
  • Proactive in identifying efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Comfortable with audit procedures and monthly close environments, including 2023 audit preparation assistance.

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3-5 yrs of professional work experience

Title: Senior Accountant (Contract-To-Hire)
