Reconcile bank statements and authorize positive check/ACH payments
Support Billing to process daily balances and payments received
Assist administration to document accounting, internal control policies and procedures
Work as a team member to evaluate business processes and systems to identify areas of improvement
Research and resolve reconciling items
Reconcile, research and resolve AP, AR and credit card accounts
Prepare core financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and AR/AP aging’s) and analyze variances on a recurring basis
Perform ad hoc financial reporting and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
Act as a key stakeholder in transforming AP/AR to a more automated and paperless process
Document, prepare, enter and post Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Maintain financial security by designing, implementing and managing internal controls
Communicate with accounting personnel, clients and/or vendors as necessary to resolve accounting related issues
Develop efficient new accounting procedures and make suggestions for improvements of existing procedures
Manage expense reimbursement process
Manage the W-9 filings for all suppliers; file and distribute 1099s annually
Oversee the monthly reconciliation and invoicing for State/City Tax Compliance
Process State of Colorado and City and County of Denver monthly use tax forms and process for payment
Prepare supporting documents for tax returns
Provide HR/Payroll support and backup, including related headcount, hours worked, vacation accrual, payroll tax, benefit deduction and related reports.
Requirements:
5+ years’ work experience as an accountant performing routine transaction and reporting functions, fluency with general ledger functions.
Experience using Sage 100 and Centricity Practice Solution
3-5+ years solid healthcare industry experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s preferred
Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting reports
Familiar with state and federal healthcare laws.
Strong computer skills, specifically in MS Excel; proficient in data entry and time management
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
Experience transforming and automating accounting processes
Organized and able to prioritize
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multitask and communicate effectively within a small/midsize office environment in Denver, CO
Understanding of an effective and efficient internal control environment
