Lucas Group has been engaged by a client in North Houston on a search for a Senior Accountant. This role will oversee fixed assets and review AP and AR. This position will also be involved it the forecasting and budgeting process. Ideal candidate will have excellent communication, strong leadership characteristics and through experience in accounting.
Some responsibilities include:
- Process journal entries for accrued expenses.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Bank reconciliations
- Manage daily accounting tasks
- Responsible for reviewing and posting payroll.
- Maintain and record fixed assets module.
- Assist with financial and tax audits.
- Assist with overseeing AP and AR.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
- SOX - Support the process by maintaining internal controls as required by SOX.
- Ad-hoc assignments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3-10+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced Excel skills
