Lucas Group is partnering with a biopharmaceutical company located in Boulder, Colorado to hire a Senior Accountant. This is a contract to hire position and would start right away.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support general accounting and monthly close process including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for certain accounts and activities. Areas of responsibilities include clinical, non–clinical, R&D, G&A accruals and monthly allocations.
• Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley testing, other periodic reviews and yearly audits, and responsible for maintaining effective control environment in assigned areas.
• Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial statement analysis.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Actively participate in maintaining documentation for the department’s procedures.
• Actively participate in both system and process improvements.
• Provide support on special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum five years of relevant corporate or public accounting experience
• Solid understanding of accruals and general accounting principals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Time-management and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to a growing environment and a desire to learn new areas
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, macros, filters, etc.)
• Experience in Biotech industry and CPA is a plus
