Overview:

The Public Safety Account Manager will lead business development and strategic planning throughout the US in the Public Safety sector. The role is responsible for maintaining and developing client relations with targeted customer and strategic market opportunities. Candidate must be able to manage multi-level customer relationships ranging from the technicians to executive management in the public safety, municipality, or cooperative organizations. The role will work in conjunction with the Sales, Marketing and Product teams. The Director will be responsible for the growth and development of our client base in Public Safety Networking Solutions.

Other key tasks include:

  • Develops / builds / cultivates long-term relationships with key management within the customer organization
  • Guides the development and execution of strategic account plans to ensure achievement of assigned business goals.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Operations resources on client opportunities and initial service implementation
  • Work collaboratively with Sales & Marketing to maximize customer reach, engagement and business development requirements
  • Maximize client satisfaction (trust, accountability, reliability)
  • Enable business growth in Public Safety solutions

 

Responsibilities

As a Public Safety Account Manager, this person will be responsible for driving the transition and subsequent growth of new business volume for Public Safety solutions. This individual should be an intelligent, articulate, and independent thinker who can develop a sales plan to achieve revenue targets and other goals. A successful candidate will be self-motivated to take care of his/her own sales objectives for the territory, but also be a team player and share in the success of the organization.

  • Responsible for client relationship management
  • Expand existing relationships to multiple departments within same company
  • Develop new customer relationships
  • Manage multiple customers with multiple projects
  • Follow-up actions on customer needs and opportunities
  • Communicate the value of the solution not just functionality
  • Ensure client and internal feedback is solicited, researched, prioritized and actioned with clear and transparent communications
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships, groups of 20+ people, sometimes executives
  • Collaborate with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends while representing/showcasing the client’s products
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance.
  • Work hand in hand with sales team to develop prospect customers and develop customer relationships
  • Dedicate time and have high energy level for daily job functions
  • 25-50% travel, possibly internationally

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; preferably in Engineering, though others will be considered
  • 8-10 years industry-specific sales and business development experience
  • Extensive knowledge in the field of Data Communications, Telecommunications, Industrial Networking, and/or Cyber Security
