Shiftwork: 1st Shift (off season), 1st 2nd or 3rd Shift (Busy Season from June – Oct.)
Full responsibility under the Superintendent, Supervisor or Head Mechanic or Leader Cannery Mechanic for the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all seamers, and capping machines.
Responsibilities:
Adjust and set seamers and cappers to give proper closure.
Test seams by cutting - inspection and micrometer.
Make or direct all running repairs.
Order or list parts and install as required.
Supervise changes of dies and inkjet coder in printing stamps.
In off - season, dismantle and overhaul seamers and cappers.
Supervise changes of type in dies and codes for stamping code on lids and adjust dies and coder.
Instruct seamer operators as to correct stamps to use.
