SAP S/4HANA Finance Transformation Project Manager / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a global finance transformation initiative. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to accelerate the realization of finance transformation goals through SAP optimization, data model improvements, and process standardization.
The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP S/4HANA Finance expertise, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to bridge business requirements with technical execution. This individual work with Finance leadership and coorde system changes with IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support SAP S/4HANA finance transformation initiatives, including process improvements, data cleanup,
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to assess current-state challenges and recommend improvements
- Drive finance data model cleanup and rationalization, including:
- TM1 finance data model review and optimization
- Chart of accounts cleanup and rationalization
- General ledger (GL) account review and standardization
- Profit center and cost center rationalization
- WBS code review and governance
- Develop and maintain an Accounting Data Dictionary / Accounting Manual to improve consistency, governance, and reporting accuracy
- Translate Finance and Accounting requirements into clear technical specifications for IT teams
- Support change management activities, including stakeholder communication, process adoption, and training support
- Manage project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment across Finance and IT
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, enhancements, or optimization initiatives
- Strong understanding of finance master data and SAP financial structures, including:
- Chart of accounts
- GL accounts
- Cost centers
- Profit centers
- WBS elements
- Financial reporting structures
- Experience supporting global SAP environments with complex organizational structures
- Strong accounting and finance background with the ability to partner effectively with Controllers, FP&A, and IT Business partners
- Proven ability to act as both a project manager and hands-on SME
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between business stakeholders and technical IT teams
- Experience driving data cleanup, standardization, governance, and process improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting SAP S/4HANA finance transformations or ERP modernization programs
- Experience in global organizations with multiple business units/entities
- Experience with finance transformation, master data governance, or operating model improvements
- Familiarity with TM1 highly preferred
