Position: Sales Engineer – West Coast (Dallas/Denver area)
Reports To: Director of Sales
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Regional Sales Engineer (RSE) is responsible for sales and marketing activity in assigned market segments within a regional area. The primary focus area would west of the Mississippi including California and the Pacific Northwest. The RSE is responsible for working with the Power Technology service dealer network, end users and territorial OEM accounts to maximize the contribution to the business. Will oversee relations with key accounts in all market segments in that area. Responsible for identifying technical, product and service requirements necessary to achieve long-term profitable growth of the business.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic and tactical planning with DOS to determine primary sales objectives, implement plans to meet or exceed sales objectives and set specific targets toward growth within the assigned territory.
Grow business in the assigned territory through effective account development & management; working closely with OEM’s and dealer principals to solve problems. “Be the person they call when they need something”.
Works with a ‘Customer Centric’ mindset
Identify customer & market needs, trends, and opportunities within assigned territory. Provide analysis and needs assessment to assist with new product development.
Provide technical support service to end-users, and OEM’s when necessary, relating to the use, operation and maintenance of our generators and/or equipment.
Aggressively market generators to OEMs, service dealers and supplied end user leads to increase penetration into market segments and discover new segments as the market evolves.
Use supplied geographical mapping of existing customers, service dealers and potential targets to assist DOS in high density targeted sales trips.
Identify sales entities within the service dealer network and route end user quotation to appropriate dealers based on geography while keeping dealers informed of new products and current pricing. Identify qualified high-end service dealers to add to the Power Tech service dealer network to improve customer support after sale and marketability of the company.
Work effectively with customers and others inside and outside the company in a tactful, courteous manner which promotes customer service orientation.
Promote, support, and adhere to all safety and quality related policies and procedures including reporting on sales calls and progress DOS for performance tracking.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in highly technical and engineered products with minimum 5+ years sales experience
Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience
Understanding of overall business operations
TRAVEL
Minimum of 50%

CAD experience

Able to discuss technical aspects of projects with in house Engineers
Business development experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confident interpersonal skills
Relevant mechanical understanding of basic engine and electrical operation
Ability to prioritize and focus efforts to complete multiple tasks concurrently
Proficient in Microsoft Office. SAP experience a plus
