Sales Counselor – Senior Housing
Lucas Group has partnered with a leading faith based, nonprofit healthcare community in the Grand Rapids, MI area to find a top level sales counselor who is passionate about senior living and wants to make an impact both on the residents and this community.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be a critical member of the sales team, and will assist in “Blue Sky” sales for their beautiful expansion on this campus. The organization is investing millions to be up to date and offer the finest amenities available to their residents. Once the expansion is sold, this role will move over to the sister community on the same campus and based on performance, will have the opportunity to become director of that building.
Responsibilities
- Greet prospects, residents, vendors and visitors professionally and enthusiastically.
- Present the Community to prospects using relationship-based selling techniques.
- In conjunction with the Director of Sales, assist in coordinating and providing ongoing training to Community staff in sales, customer service and first impressions. Every staff member must be sales and customer service oriented.
- Coordinate with the director to make personal visits to potential referral sources in the surrounding community and target market areas.
- Assist the Director of Sales in planning, hosting and attending scheduled marketing events on various occasions such as; new resident, social, individual housewarming parties, meet and greet gatherings
- Field incoming calls and internet inquiries from families, prospects, and other referral sources. Ensure that responses to these inquiries are handled individually, timely and with personalized follow-up.
- Set appointments with prospective residents and family members to discuss needs and tour community to find appropriate lifestyle choices
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in selling senior housing, real estate, resort, hotel industry or similar relationship based selling
- Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft office products and experience with a CRM data base
- Possess a personal presence characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of the organization
- Competencies needed for this position include strong interpersonal relationship skills, detail oriented, and ability to work in collaboration with others, a high degree of integrity and personal commitment, possess strong analytical skills, be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities at the same time.
- Assist prospective residents and their family members in the decision-making process by identifying their needs and educating them about the benefits of the community.
- Represent the community and increase awareness through participation in internal and outside events, professional groups and community involvement in the local market
