* This company is specifically seeking candidates with military experience. *
Will manage plant safety programs, plant compliance requirements, and continuous improvement efforts. The individual will work closely with plant management, local safety committees, site COS resources and state/local government agencies.
- Regular strategic communication with Plant Manager and EH&S Manager.
- Conduct comprehensive policy and compliance audits and maintain all OSHA and PSM/RMP record keeping requirements.
- Attend required management team meetings, safety committee meetings and COS meetings/projects.
- Prepare, implement, and execute safety and PSM/RMP training.
- Serve as primary advisor for safety, site compliance and COS programs/projects.
- Maintain close contact with government agencies and members of the local safety communities.
- Maintain company compliance with all appropriate OSHA and state safety regulations and maintain appropriate reporting and accountability systems.
- Track OSHA recordable incidents, rates and trends and regularly report safety performance measures to management.
- Investigate all safety incident reports, lead serious lost time and recordable investigations and drive the development of necessary corrective actions.
- Strategic planning to insure potential environmental and safety consequences of the manufacturing process are considered.
- Identifying, scoping, and participating in/facilitating process improvement events.
- Conducting event follow-up audits to ensure sustainment and completion of parking lot items.
- Engage with lean certified manufacturing personnel to increase the use of lean manufacturing tools and techniques throughout the plant.
- Coordinate COS programs and initiatives such as: Managing Daily Improvement (MDI), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Operational Excellence, 5S
- Other duties as assigned
Location: Lake City, FL (60 mi W of Jacksonville)
Experience required: NCO/SNCO or civilian with safety and some continuous improvement experience. Degree a plus but not required. Must be comfortable training employees.
