Our client, a mid-sized publicly traded E&P company located in the Galleria area, has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Revenue Accounting Manager. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 10 years of revenue and severance tax experience, supervisory experience and Bolo.

 

This role provides overall leadership and direction to the Revenue team which consists of 2 Leads/Supervisors and 9 Analysts/Accountants.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure accounting and reporting is being performed timely and accurately, in compliance with company’s policies and procedures, including accrual/estimate process, recording of revenue, distribution of revenue, gas balancing, cash application and account reconciliations.
  • Monthly financial analysis/review and presentation to management.
  • Point of contact for all audits (SOX, JV, External Auditor and Royalty). Review audit reports, provide responses and complete corrective actions if needed. Ensure SOX compliance for Revenue department.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for revenue processes including the identification and coordination of process improvements.
  • Ensure timely response for data requests for inquiries from Land, Marketing and Operations and well as buyers in connection with divestitures.
  • Integrate the revenue accounting of oil and natural gas properties added through acquisitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting.
  • 10 years or more experience in handling revenue accounting including severance taxes.
  • 7 years or more supervisory and leadership experience in Revenue Accounting.
  • Understand Sarbanes Oxley compliance documentation requirements.
  • Able to lead a team of accountants and communicate effectively with management, peers, Land, Marketing Treasury, Legal and Operations team members.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organization skills.
  • Advance skills in using Excel and advanced knowledge in using the revenue module of the BOLO accounting software required.

Salary

Salary commensurate with experience.
