Lucas Group is partnering with a growing oil and gas company located in West Houston in their search for a Sr. Revenue Accountant. This is a temp to hire position. This role will be responsible for recording revenue, regulatory compliance, monthly close requirements, account reconciliations, variance analyses, internal controls and other responsibilities as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Production, Land and other departments on various initiatives
- Prepare and file all necessary regulatory reports and amendments, including Texas and New Mexico royalty, severance and withholding reporting, Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), escheat / unclaimed property and 1099s
- Record revenue and post-production expenses for oil and gas production and ensure royalties are properly calculated and distributed
- Prepare revenue accruals and other journal entries during the monthly close process
- Perform reconciliations of all related accounts, and resolve reconciling items
- Prepare or review well-level volume allocations and valuations
- Assist with internal and external auditor requests related to revenue and receivables, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules
- Reconcile purchaser statements and payments to contract terms and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with revenue SOX requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ Years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience (Operated environment)
- Enertia experience preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office
