Our client is actively seeking a Regulatory Compliance Advisor who will serve as a liaison for the various regulatory agencies, provide audit support and improve current processes, manuals and programs. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced individual with pipelines and terminals experience withing a quickly growing company.
Responsibilities
- Ongoing compliance with regards to Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT/PHMSA) and pipeline safety state agency requirements for California preferred.
- Manage inspections from DOT/PHMSA and provide assistance with the USCG and Ca. State Lands regulations when conflicts exist with DOT/PHMSA jurisdiction.
- Primarily support California SB295 CSFM audit program as well as PHMSA audits in the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions. Track, organize and facilitate follow up actions to inspections in the field. Serve as a liaison with pipeline regulators and represent company during agency interactions and inspections of the Company’s pipeline records and operations.
- Provide direct development or support and assist Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the development or revisions of normal, abnormal and emergency instruction updates with the pipeline management plan(s); Operations & Maintenance manuals, Integrity Management program, Operator Qualification program, Public Awareness/Damage Prevention program and associated procedures ensuring continued compliance with regulations, company guidance and industry standards.
- Assist in developing consistency within the compliance processes across all pipeline operations functions.
Qualifications
- College degree in related field preferred/High School degree required
- A minimum of 10 years of petroleum industry experience, preferably in pipeline transportation
- DOT/PHMSA regulatory experience required
- Must be able to effectively interface with a wide variety of people, both internal and external to the company, and communicate effectively through both written and verbal delivery
- Must be able to read, interpret and apply applicable regulations; preferably have good knowledge of regulatory requirements with 49 CFR 192-199
- Must be willing and able to travel (10-20%)
