About the Company

Our client is a large, publicly traded global electrical manufacturing company that designs and manufactures electrical connection and protection solutions. Its products help safeguard electrical systems while improving their reliability, efficiency, and safety across industries including energy, construction, and industrial automation.

The company combines the resources and history of an established global manufacturer with the pace, innovation, and entrepreneurial environment of a growing business. It operates in a fast-moving, highly acquisitive environment and is known for maintaining an inclusive culture in which contract consultants are treated as fully integrated members of the team.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Contract Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruiting for high-volume, hourly manufacturing positions at its Tempe facility.

Historically, recruiting for these positions was managed by the onsite HR team. As hiring demand has increased and the facility has expanded to a 24/7 operating model, the company is building a more dedicated hourly recruiting function. This recruiter will initially support approximately 25 open Machine Operator positions, many of which are expected to support evening, overnight, or other off-hour shifts.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on recruiter with strong sourcing capabilities, experience managing fast-moving hiring processes, and a demonstrated background recruiting hourly manufacturing or production talent. This position requires someone who can independently manage a high-volume requisition workload while partnering closely with talent acquisition leadership, onsite HR, plant leadership, and hiring managers.

While this engagement is initially structured as a three-month contract, the company may eventually establish a permanent recruiting position to support the site's longer-term hiring needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for approximately 25 hourly Machine Operator openings and other manufacturing positions as needed.
  • Partner with the Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, onsite HR Manager, plant leadership, and hiring managers to understand staffing priorities, shift requirements, and candidate profiles.
  • Create and post job advertisements across approved recruiting platforms.
  • Proactively source qualified hourly manufacturing candidates through Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, resume databases, referrals, local talent pools, and other relevant sourcing channels.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings to evaluate manufacturing experience, schedule and shift availability, compensation alignment, work authorization, and overall suitability.
  • Coordinate approximately 30-minute onsite interviews between qualified candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain momentum throughout a fast-moving selection process in which hiring decisions are frequently made within 24 hours of the interview.
  • Present and communicate employment offers to selected candidates.
  • Initiate and monitor background checks and other required pre-employment activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate, requisition, interview, and hiring information within the Workday applicant tracking system.
  • Provide regular recruiting updates, pipeline reporting, and market feedback to talent acquisition and HR leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with candidates and provide a professional, responsive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Identify sourcing challenges, candidate drop-off trends, and other barriers to filling off-hour manufacturing shifts, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Support the continued development of the company's hourly and site-based recruiting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting for hourly manufacturing, production, warehouse, skilled labor, or similarly high-volume positions.
  • Direct experience recruiting within a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong preference for candidates who have specifically recruited Machine Operators or comparable production talent.
  • Proven ability to proactively source candidates rather than relying exclusively on inbound applications.
  • Experience managing multiple open positions and candidates simultaneously in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Hands-on experience using Workday Recruiting or the Workday applicant tracking system.
  • Experience using sourcing platforms such as Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, resume databases, referrals, and local market outreach.
  • Ability to clearly explain specific examples of successful sourcing strategies used to identify difficult-to-find hourly candidates.
  • Experience screening candidates, coordinating interviews, extending offers, and supporting background-check processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining closely aligned with onsite HR and talent acquisition leadership.
  • Ability to work onsite in Tempe five days per week during the first month and four days per week thereafter.
  • Availability to work a consistent 40-hour schedule during the company's local core business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recruiting Machine Operators, CNC Operators, assemblers, production technicians, maintenance employees, or other hourly industrial talent.
  • Experience recruiting candidates for second, third, overnight, weekend, or rotating shifts.
  • Familiarity with the Tempe, Phoenix, or broader Arizona hourly manufacturing labor market.
  • Experience supporting a plant that operates across multiple shifts or on a 24/7 schedule.
  • Previous recruiting experience within a large, publicly traded, global, or highly acquisitive manufacturing organization.
  • Experience entering an environment that previously relied heavily on staffing agencies and building a stronger direct-sourcing pipeline.

Reporting Structure

This position will report directly to the Senior Talent Acquisition Manager responsible for hourly manufacturing recruiting and will have a dotted-line relationship to the onsite Tempe HR Manager.

The recruiter will receive leadership and strategic support from the Talent Acquisition organization while working closely with the onsite HR team, plant leadership, and hiring managers. This will be the primary recruiting resource located at the Tempe facility.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by the recruiter's ability to quickly establish a qualified pipeline, reduce reliance on external staffing agencies, maintain an organized and responsive hiring process, and fill critical Machine Operator openings across the site's various shifts.

The ideal consultant will bring urgency, creativity, and strong follow-through while building trusted relationships with both candidates and internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing recruiter to take ownership of a visible hiring initiative and make an immediate impact within a fast-growing global organization.

Interview Process

Qualified candidates should expect two approximately 30-minute interviews:

  1. An interview with the Senior Talent Acquisition Manager.
  2. An interview with the onsite HR Manager.

The interview process is expected to move quickly due to the immediate hiring need.
