Lucas Group has partnered with a growing manufacturing plant in the North Atlanta area seeking to hire a Supplier Quality Engineer! This hire will review performances and advance corrective actions for incoming products. Establish, evaluated and investigate incoming products inspection data to correct quality and delivery issues. The Supply Quality Engineer will conduct audits, reduce waste, and work on continuous improvements.. Manages projects for new processes, parts or design changes. Improves machine reliability, processes and works to reduce costs.
Role Highlights include:
- Develop relations with suppliers and build score cards to help improve quality
- Develop samples plans for incoming parts
- Travel to supplier locations to perform audits and assessment of supplier
- Analyze the data for incoming part defects
- Provides engineering guidance and assistance to the manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance and tooling departments.
- Sets daily, weekly, monthly priorities for self to stay focused and deliver effective and productive results.
- Attend and lead vendor meetings frequently.
- Travel up to 30%
Background Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering required with at least five (5) years experience in a supplier quality role with a preference towards medical equipment, medical devices and or related FDA product instrumentation. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) desirable.
- ISO 1348 and or ISO 9001.
- Proven work experience in Lean Manufacturing – Six Sigma – Green Belt (Plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Self-starter able to prioritize multiple priorities with minimal oversight
- Proven experience with Lean Methodologies is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
