Our client has been an international leader for over 100 years in printing, packaging, and labels for a variety of industries. We are partnering with them on a Quality & Lean Manager to work in the Quality department. The Quality & Lean Manager will be responsible for driving compliance with their Quality Management System (QMS) as well as being a subject matter expert on Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement.

The Quality & Lean Manager will be the leader responsible for implementing Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, TPM, Visual Management, Standard Work, etc.) for the entire site, especially in the Quality department. The Quality & Lean Manager will manage a team of Quality Technicians to ensure internal and customer quality standards are being fulfilled. This is a single-site management role for a non-union production site and our client offers a lot of personal and professional growth opportunities in addition to a base salary and bonus.

Quality & Lean Manager Responsibilities

  • Drive improvement activities for the site’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methods to improve processes, reduce defects, and drive Lean projects.
  • Manage a team of Quality Technicians and train them in root cause analysis, SPC, and analysis of measurement systems.
  • Build out the CI program at the plant level.
  • Teach Lean tools to all levels of the organization from site leadership to the hourly employee level.
  • Standardize control plans, corrective action processes, and KPI’s.
  • Work with suppliers to verify materials meet internal standards.
  • Collect data for analysis on quality program effectiveness and to identify areas for continued development.

Quality & Lean Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field is required.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or any ASQ certifications are preferred.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in leading Lean Six Sigma projects is required.
  • Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality tools like FMEA, corrective action, PDCA, control plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), or related is very beneficial.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
