Lucas Group has partnered with a Dynamic Tier 2 Automotive Supplier of Parts in North Atlanta for an immediate need for a Quality Engineer
This is a Contract to Direct position for the right candidate.
Quality Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate APQP/PPAP activity according to unique CSRs and AIAG guidelines
- Contribute to quality investigations, problem solving and continuous improvement activity including leading MRB activity
- Maintain gauge calibration system for all internal and external requirements including MSA / Gage R&R activity
- Participate in inspection activities including first article, set-up and final inspection
- Internal auditor (IATF/ISO System and LPAs)
Skills
- Familiarity with ISO9001/IATF16949 Quality Technical Specifications
- Experience with gage control, calibration and gage calibration software (Gage pack)
- Ability to use basic measurement tools (Micrometer, calipers, optical comparator, vision systems/CMM, etc.)
- Experience working with the Core automotive tools per AIAG (Control Plan, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP)
- Experience working with IMDS and other environmental requirements and declarations
- Display a high level of attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and other technical software (Minitab, QC-CALC, etc.…)
Education
- BS degree Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- ASQ Quality certification or training including Six Sigma, Lean, Auditor, etc. plus
