Business Analyst - Payments Regulatory Change

Dublin (Hybrid) | Contract - Initial 6 months

We have partnered with our client in their search for an experienced Business Analyst to support delivery across a significant payments regulatory change programme within financial services.

The Role

You will support the delivery of regulatory change across PSR, PSD2 and PSD3, working across payments, Open Banking, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and fraud-related requirements.

The role will involve working closely with business, compliance, risk and technology stakeholders to understand regulatory requirements, translate them into clear business and functional requirements, and support delivery through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and translate payments regulatory requirements into clear business and functional requirements.
  • Support delivery of PSD2 / PSD3 / PSR regulatory change initiatives.
  • Work with stakeholders across Payments, Compliance, Risk and Technology to understand impacts and define requirements.
  • Document current and future-state processes, customer journeys and business requirements.
  • Support Open Banking, SCA and fraud-related change initiatives.
  • Identify dependencies, impacts, risks and gaps across existing processes and systems.
  • Work closely with development, testing and delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered correctly.
  • Support testing, issue resolution and implementation activities throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Skills & Experience Required

Must-Have:

  • Proven Business Analyst experience within financial services.
  • Strong experience working on payments regulatory change.
  • Practical experience of PSD2 and ideally exposure to PSD3 / PSR.
  • Strong understanding of payments processing and customer journeys.
  • Experience with Open Banking and API-based payment services.
  • Knowledge of Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and relevant exemptions.
  • Exposure to fraud prevention, payment controls and liability considerations.
  • Strong requirements gathering, analysis and documentation skills.
  • Experience working across business and technology teams within complex change programmes.
