Infrastructure Project Manager (Manufacturing & Infrastructure Expansion)

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Travel: Periodic travel to manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, Ohio, Mexico, and other future locations as required

Position Overview

Our client is experiencing significant growth through new manufacturing plant construction, expansion of existing facilities, and strategic acquisitions. To support these initiatives, we are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead technology workstreams across the company's global manufacturing and operations footprint.

This role will be responsible for managing infrastructure projects associated with new plant builds, facility expansions, and acquisition integrations. The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of project management expertise, infrastructure knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and experience operating within manufacturing, industrial, energy, or other complex operational environments.

This is a highly visible role that requires the ability to influence cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with executive leadership, and drive multiple concurrent projects from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead infrastructure projects supporting new manufacturing plant construction, facility expansions, and operational growth initiatives.
  • Manage technology integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions, including infrastructure assessments, migration planning, and transition to enterprise standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT Infrastructure, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Cybersecurity, and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, budgets, risk registers, and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive deployment and implementation of infrastructure technologies, including:
    • Network and wireless solutions
    • Server and storage infrastructure
    • Cloud platforms
    • End-user computing and device management
    • Collaboration technologies
    • Cybersecurity solutions
  • Facilitate project governance activities and provide regular status updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies, risks, issues, and escalations.
  • Ensure operational readiness and successful handoff of solutions to support and business teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships, system integrators, and implementation partners.
  • Lead multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously while maintaining alignment with business priorities and timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience leading enterprise infrastructure initiatives.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale facility buildouts, manufacturing plant openings, plant expansions, or infrastructure deployments within manufacturing, industrial, energy, logistics, or similar operational environments.
  • Experience leading technology workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, or large-scale transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including:
    • Networking and connectivity
    • Servers and data center technologies
    • Cloud platforms
    • End-user computing
    • Collaboration tools
    • Cybersecurity solutions
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, implementation partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, energy, data center, or global operations environments.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience managing global or multi-site infrastructure deployments.
  • Familiarity with post-acquisition integration and migration activities.
  • Experience supporting greenfield plant builds or large facility expansion projects.
