Lucas Group has partnered with our client, a nationwide manufacturer of kitchen and bath cabinet fixtures, on their search for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor in Monticello KY. With 18 plants and 15 service centers across North America, they offer team members a wide variety of opportunities for career advancement and reward.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate production processes, using all resources in meeting/exceeding plant goals and customer expectations
- Maintain all production equipment
- Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
- Plan and coordinate department activities to support SQDC targets, and meet and/or exceed customer expectations
- Ensure departments perform tasks as outlined in Job Instruction Breakdowns, Quality Specifications, and Standard Operating Practices.
- Supervise hourly employees in assigned department(s); responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities (in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws) including: interviewing, hiring/training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Provide team leadership consistent with company vision, mission, CITE principles.
- Actively participate on assigned teams and/or projects.
- Provide communication on departmental expectations, motivate team members, and identify opportunity for improvements.
Skills Needed:
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience (preference for wood related experience.)
- Minimum 5 years of supervision experience (multiple departments)
- Must have experience in material flows and inventory management, continuous improvement practices and process analysis.
- Six Sigma training is a plus
- Microsoft Office products experience in a network environment preferred.
- Track record of successful project management; demonstrated problem solving skills
- Management style must be consistent with CITE Principles; experience in working in a team environment
- Strong planning/Organization & Time Management skills
Educational & Work Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related discipline; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
