BASIC FUNCTION

  • Responsible for the effective/efficient conduct and performance of roughly 20 departmental employees.
  • Stays focused on the required number of quality products that need to be produced each day
  • Primarily works set hours, but maintain flexibility if overtime is required
  • Provide leadership and guidance to all departmental employees. Uses tools for dealing with setbacks other than a hammer (but has that “hammer” in his toolbox if necessary)
  • Maintain Training levels for all employees in department at and above acceptable positions.
  • Conduct process audits in following areas: Waste Management, Quality Systems, Material Usage, Individual Part Weight Variance, and Man-Hours per Unit (MHPU)
  • Hold Maintenance staff accountable to tasks/assignments/responsibilities. (e.g. spray guns)
  • Hold other department plant supervisory staff accountable to procedures which support production line
  • Maintain safe working environment and report hazardous conditions to Supervisor and HSE Manager.
  • Work closely with HSE Manager to ensure continuous operations and compliance with permits
  • Ensure raw material inventories (Gel coat, Resin, Filler, Reinforcement) are maintained at proper levels.
  • In light of CoVid-19 Pandemic – comply with all safety and sanitization procedures, as well as enforce social distancing.
  • Council and coach poor performers, develop corrective action plans and discipline repeat offenders
  • Overall – provide positive “can do” attitude, hold your people accountable, be responsible to and for your metrics, embrace continuous improvement and , never settle for mediocre performance of any kind

 

NATURE AND SCOPE

The Plant Production Line Supervisor, primarily leads his production staff, interacts with the Plant Superintendent, Quality Manager and other Plant Supervisors. This individual is expected to be a "team player", exhibit cooperation and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

ABILITIES / SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic desire to win. At the same time, competes as a team player. Can focus on a goal.
  • Complete necessary on-line audits as listed above, submit via the froms.com app.
  • User-level competence with Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.
  • Relocation for this position is not available
  • Spanish Language ability a preference.

 

EDUCATION:

Minimum - High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED); or 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS is a plus.

EXPERIENCE
Desire 2-3 years' experience in manufacturing environment, or position of authority in US military.
