Product Owner - Credit Domain (Contract)

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join a major transformation programme within the credit domain. This role sits within a high-performing delivery team and requires someone who can operate with autonomy, drive outcomes, and work closely with both business and technical stakeholders.
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping, driving, and prioritising the product backlog while supporting a squad focused on complex credit and multicurrency capabilities.
Act as Product Owner for a dedicated delivery squad, owning the backlog and ensuring clarity of requirements.
Work closely with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, and engineering teams to create, shape, and drive work items from concept through to delivery.
Provide ongoing guidance to the team, making prioritisation decisions and removing blockers to maintain delivery momentum.
Contribute to planning, refinement, and sprint ceremonies, ensuring alignment with wider programme objectives.
Support the delivery of upcoming major releases within tight deadlines.
Collaborate with stakeholders across credit operations and technology to ensure product features meet business needs.
Provide strong leadership and team direction, acting as a key driver of the squad's output.
5+ years Product Owner experience with proven ability to deliver in fast-paced environments.
Strong experience in team management or leading delivery squads.
Background in credit or lending (financial services experience beneficial but not essential).
Ability to understand and work with technical concepts; experience partnering closely with technical leads.
Experience within core banking or credit platforms is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills.
