The Lucas Group is searching for a talented, driven and entrepreneurial minded Product Marketing Manager for our client’s SaaS Global Customer Success team in the D.C. metro-area. The Product Marketing Manager reports to the CMO and will be responsible for telling the market (and company) the story of the product. As chief product advocate, this Product Marketing Manager role is responsible for understanding the product feature set and its benefits and clearly articulating the value proposition delivered through innovative and compelling deliverables such as messaging, marketing collateral, sales materials and thought leadership content. This is a key role for our client’s go-to-market team and will work collaboratively with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Communications, Demand Generation, and other teams to drive growth and customer success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates the product in the market
- Create content (e.g. data sheets, infographics, solution briefs, white papers, user guides, web tutorials, web content, presentations, sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts, release announcements) to articulate the benefits of the product to the world.
- Work with the Product Management team to communicate Sales enablement and the value proposition of the product to the sales team and develop the sales tools and training that support the selling process of the product. Assist sales on calls when appropriate to provide deeper dives into the product.
- Plan the launch of new related products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan with Product Management
- Be the expert on buyers of the product, how they buy and their buying criteria
- Be the expert on competition. Follow and analyze market trends to position the product and identify new required capabilities.
- Support awareness and educational activities including webinars, events, demand generation, and customer case studies. Speak and present both internally and externally to promote the story of the product
- Work with demand generation team to ensure content needs are being met and to define programs to promote product and its value proposition and benefits to target markets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Business, Marketing or Communications; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years proven product marketing experience in an enterprise software company is required. Enterprise video experience or similar experience with products focused on content delivery while dealing with enterprise network, security, compliance, etc. is highly desired.
- Proven success in working with technical partners (product management and development) to translate technical elements into business value messages and to create and execute product marketing strategies and materials for enterprise software.
- Experience in market analysis and segmentation.
- Able to communicate persuasively and precisely - excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter who truly enjoys working in a fast-paced software environment with a drive to take on new challenges.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic and aggressive high growth environment.
- Creative and analytical mind and strong quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of CRM and marketing automation applications.
