Lucas Group has partnered with a seasoned and growing chemical company in Southwest Ohio who is adding a
PROCESS CONTROLS ENGINEER to their Engineering Department. Our client globally supports a broad range of customers across many high-tech industries including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical diagnostic, display and basic research. This company is rapidly expanding, and the Ohio facility is an integral part of their growth for the future.
The process controls engineer will support the Delta V DCS systems to optimize plant production and ensure safe operations. The position in the engineering division will support the startup of new production lines, support production trials, and provide process troubleshooting to the plant operations units. This company runs continuous and batch processes. Successful candidates are expected to have a chemical engineering degree with knowledge of process control techniques and guidelines.
Responsibilities
• Support DCS software and programming
• Oversee validated and regulated DCS control system
• Develop recommendations to improve performance and hardware design
• Understanding of Emerson hardware design and implementation. Including EIOC card, CIOC, and different controller options
• Provide process design support for capital projects
• Identifies appropriate instrumentation for process control and communications
• Experience Hart and EIOC communication protocols. Foundation Fieldbus experience is beneficial but not required
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) is desired but not required
• Prepare documents required for process safety and operations • Responsible for phone or call ins as needed to resolve process control or control system hardware issues or assist with problem troubleshooting
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering (MUST HAVE)
• 3- 5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
•
DeltaV DCS: 2 years (MUST HAVE)
• Understanding of class modules
• Proven ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and optimize processes
• Experience with process control strategies for distillation and reacting processes is beneficial but not required
• MicroSoft Visio or AutoCad experience
• Six Sigma certified preferred or ability to become certified
• US Citizenship required
