Privacy Attorney: Washington D.C. or New York, NY
Attorney to support large law firm’s Privacy team, starting early March for 6 to 12 months. We are placing a greater emphasis on presentation and communication skills than on substantive years of practice in privacy law.
This work will be 35 hours per week, on site in D.C. or NYC. The work will be relatively steady, and we do not anticipate extreme spikes or declines in the number of hours week to week, although some variation must be anticipated.
Some remote work is possible. An on-site schedule of (5) 7 hour days or (4) 8 hours days can be accommodated.
The candidate will have responsibilities in two main areas, (1) primarily non-billable, internal work, and (2) traditional billable legal work:
(1) Content Development- non –billable work (paid at a lower rate: 60/hr)
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting privacy practice group by developing blogs, presentations, and other relevant content regarding developments in privacy legislation and enforcement.
- Content development portion of this role will require 10 – 15 hours per week.
(2) Compliance Program Documentation- billable work (paid at a higher rate: 75/hr)
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the privacy compliance program by drafting privacy policies, employee privacy notices, and other internal policy documents, as well as drafting memos regarding applicability and interpretation of various portions of state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act.
- Privacy policy documentation portion of this role will require 20 hours per week.

- Candidates must be highly organized, able to work independently and collaboratively, in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have significant prior experience with writing, drafting and presentation in a legal setting.
