Title: Principal SOftware Engineer - C#/.Net
Location: Keller, TX
Type: Contract to Hire
Compensation: $65 - $85/hr W2
Position Overview:
Our client is scaling their global engineering organization and hiring multiple Principal Engineers to lead a large modernization effort of their Core Platform. This includes rewriting the core Application using a modern cloud‑native architecture, while simultaneously adding agentic AI capabilities to existing SaaS products.
These roles are 100% hands‑on, with direct ownership over architecture, coding, design patterns, and technical leadership.
Lead architecture and technical strategy for enterprise-grade backend applications using ASP.NET / C# / .NET Core
Design and build scalable, secure, and maintainable RESTful APIs
Architect and optimize high-performance database integrations (SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
Ensure database scalability, indexing strategy, query optimization, and performance tuning
Lead cloud-native deployments and infrastructure design in AWS
Establish best practices for Git workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing
Conduct code reviews, mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and enforce engineering standards
Drive system reliability, performance monitoring, and production support strategy
Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
10+ years of software engineering experience, primarily in backend development
Deep expertise in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core framework
Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs
Advanced SQL knowledge with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server
Proven experience optimizing database performance and handling high-throughput integrations
Experience designing scalable architectures in AWS
Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
Expertise with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines
