We have partnered with our client in their search for a Principal Manager of Data Platform Operations.
Responsibilities
- Leadership in Healthcare Data Ecosystems: Oversee the operation and strategic modernization of Epic Cogito environments (Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer), ensuring their performance and resiliency align with organizational and Epic standards. Lead initiatives for both cloud (Azure) and on-prem platforms, emphasizing data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Team Leadership and Development: Manage a team of approximately 10 data professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Develop strategic goals and help the team connect their work with team mission to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Platform Reliability and Improvement: Ensure the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of data platforms, adhering to Epic’s Honor Roll requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize platform performance and introduce innovations in line with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Skills Required:
- Technical Expertise: Epic Cogito platforms (Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer) and Azure Cloud platform management (Moving data from Epic Cogito to Azure Cloud)
- Experience and Education: 7+ years of experience in data platform management, with at least a few years in a leadership role within a healthcare setting. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strategic Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders (IS, Epic, Microsoft) to drive platform optimization. Experience in risk management, data governance, and compliance in a healthcare environment
Education & Work Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Title: Principal Manager of Data Platform Operations
Location: Remote with 1-2x/month
Client Industry: Healthcare
Compensation: $80-85 / hour, before converting to full-time
