PURPOSE
The ATV/UTV Portfolio Director will lead the portfolio merchandising and marketing team, coordinate with the sales and operational functions to ensure customer satisfaction, maximum productivity and profitability, inventory control and compliance with company procedures. The position will oversee all merchandising and buying functions to guide the process, selection, pricing and buying of merchandise. In addition, it will oversee all marketing efforts to coordinate between merchandising and sale the appropriate strategies, tactics and tools to drive profitability sales. The director will also guide the expansion of current owned brands, working with partners to curate product lines that fit within the overall apparel strategy.

Portfolio Management – Managing a team of vendor managers/buyers
- Manage product mix that is appropriate to support the changing needs of our customers
- Review and approve assortment and buy plans; manage inventory levels and open-to-buy across product categories
- Steward the growth of owned apparel brands
- Improve processes used to evaluate item and assortment performance
- Support and guide vendor negotiation and partnership strategies
- Ensure brand standards and operating standards meet or exceed expectations to support brand consistency
- Monitor merchandise sell-through and market trend information – support holistic analytics to anticipate product, vendor, and customer opportunities while optimizing placement, pricing, and promotion
- Introduce new items/brands and rationalize under-performers to keep a complete and healthy portfolio
Marketing Oversight – Engage with marketing support teams to lead an apparel marketing plan
- Develop and approve marketing strategies, identifying and applying appropriate tactics and tools
- Develop and manage marketing budget
- Oversee development of creative advertising and sales plans
- Identify ways to drive sales generation and ensure action is taken to achieve goals
- Support catalog development, social media strategies, online presence, and sales team product training
- Ensure customer service appropriately supports product service questions from pricing, technical specifications, and warranty claims
Budget, Financial and Corporate Management
- Develop, present and execute merchandising and marketing strategy
- Oversee annual product sales plans, inventory plans and GM plans
- With other members of the management team contribute to the corporate strategy
- Stay within budget with respect to controllable expenses and drive profitability
People and Team Management
- Drive continuous team improvement, providing guidance on planning, prioritization, time management, communications. Provide coaching, training and motivation
- Manage employees to ensure all profitability and inventory goals are met
- Hold others accountable for achieving business targets and standards
- Review and assess the performance of staff. Ensure high quality review, assessment and feedback
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of ten years’ merchandise and marketing management experience and proven ability to direct operations at all levels
- Ability to perform in a dynamic environment and able to successfully drive cross-functional collaboration
- Demonstrated proficiency in merchandising, pricing, and marketing
- Excellent communication, delegation, follow up and analytical skills
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment adapting to change with a sense of urgency
- Experience in the Motorsport/ATV/UTV industry preferred
- Experience leading owned brands, including working with third-party partners and suppliers preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s preferred.
