Platform Product Lead (Contract)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Platform Product Lead to support the ongoing evolution and stability of a critical enterprise platform within a large-scale technology environment. This role will sit at the intersection of business, engineering, and operations, ensuring the platform is robust, scalable, and aligned to delivery priorities.
You will play a key role in coordinating platform enhancements, managing backlog and delivery, and driving operational improvements across a complex ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships across business, engineering, and operational teams
- Provide clear and concise updates on platform performance, risks, and delivery progress
- Ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
Backlog & Delivery Management
- Own and manage the platform backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined and prioritised
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and support delivery planning
- Track progress, manage dependencies, and remove blockers to ensure timely delivery
- Support sprint planning, testing cycles, and release readiness
Platform Operations
- Work closely with operational teams to identify and prioritise platform issues and improvements
- Support analysis and resolution of technical issues across multiple environments
- Ensure enhancements and fixes are delivered to a high standard
Technical Oversight
- Provide oversight across key areas of the platform ecosystem, including:
- CI/CD and release processes
- Environment readiness and deployment activities
- Monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling
- Core application and service components
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions align with architectural and governance standards
Cross-Team Coordination
- Engage with internal technology teams and external partners where required
- Manage dependencies across teams to support smooth delivery
- Provide regular updates to programme and delivery stakeholders
Governance & Quality
- Ensure all platform changes meet required compliance, security, and operational standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, including release notes and configuration updates
- Support governance processes such as change approvals and audit requirements
Required Experience
- Proven experience in a Product Owner / Product Lead / Platform Lead role
- Strong delivery focus with experience managing backlogs in a technical environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working across cross-functional technology teams (engineering, DevOps, operations)
- Ability to understand and translate technical concepts into clear delivery outcomes
Desirable
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise platforms
- Exposure to DevOps practices and modern delivery environments
- Background in regulated or highly governed environments
