Overview

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer (DevOps) with strong OpenShift expertise to join our banking client based in Dublin. This role will support the design, delivery, and ongoing optimisation of the organisation's container platform, enabling secure, scalable, and efficient application deployment across the enterprise. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, architecture, and security teams to ensure the platform meets operational, regulatory, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain OpenShift clusters to support enterprise-level applications.

  • Develop and enhance automation pipelines (CI/CD) for seamless deployment and operations.

  • Implement infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.

  • Monitor platform performance, reliability, and security, providing proactive improvements.

  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues across infrastructure, network, and application layers.

  • Collaborate with development and architecture teams to enable DevOps best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with banking standards, security controls, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years' experience in Platform Engineering or DevOps roles within complex environments.

  • Proven hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (essential).

  • Strong knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo, Tekton).

  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).

  • Solid Linux administration background (preferably RHEL).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) advantageous.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts, security best practices, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

  • Experience working in regulated environments, ideally financial services.
