What You Will Do:

 

Responsible for the daily operations of the Plant with a focus on employee and manufacturing safety. Oversee related processes within the maintenance, manufacturing, prep, packaging and administrative areas.

 

  • Direct and schedule Supervisors and support staff – including interviewing, hiring, training, planning and schedule, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues
  • Responsible for employee development, performance management and staffing with a focus on management by objectives (i.e.: KPIs, Plant Objectives, etc.)
  • Promote and participate in Operational Excellence throughout the facility
  • Ensure daily production planning is in accordance with supply chain needs
  • Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members
  • Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules with a focus on reduction/avoidance of failure costs
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and use of equipment
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of Continuous Improvement reducing waste and overtime, and trigger corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Monitor variations in production process and report to Quality and Director of Operations
  • Assist in preparation of annual operation budgets and capital expenditures for plant operations in order to achieve budgets
  • Review / monitor monthly operations budget and discuss budget overruns with Director of Operations
  • Adhere to ERU food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
  • Assist Project Manager in timely completion of cap ex projects through production coordination, project meetings, etc

 

Education and Work Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Proven managerial experience, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
