Title: Plant HR Manager

Purpose of Role:
This is the top level HR role at the facility, reporting directly into the Plant Manager while managing 2 ½ direct reports (HR Generalist, HR Coordinator and a part-time HR Assistant). The facility is currently undergoing a major culture change and so are in need of a true strategic HR Business Partner. Someone who knows how to develop trust and effectively engage with the population to drive change and accountability. This is a facility of just under 200 union employees. Union experience is a MUST and they need someone who has sat either 1st or 2nd chair during contract negotiations. F&B or CPG experience is also required, although it does not have to be current (within he last 5-7 years would suffice). A strong manager is also key, so must have previously held HR direct reports. Although this role will focus heavily on strategic initiatives like talent management, change management and OD, an ivory tower leader will not work in this environment. You must be willing to walk the floor, be present and engaged. This is a true Generalist role needing a strategic HR Manager with the ability to roll up their sleeves and be tactical when needed. They need someone who has a backbone and isn’t afraid to push back when necessary, but in a respectful manner.
Requirements:
• 7-10 years HR Generalist experience with at least 5 in Management
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Union experience – 1st or 2nd chair
• F&B or CPG experience current or within the last 5-7 years
• Certifications are preferred but not required
