Our client is an international leader in material handling with operations in five countries across multiple continents. We are partnering with them for a brand new Planning & Logistics Supervisor role for their HQ in the Northern Chicago suburbs. We are seeking someone with previous experience managing a team who is still willing to roll up their sleeves to help the team on the tactical level as needed. The Supervisor must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills and previous exposure with ERP and MRP systems.
Planning & Logistics Supervisor Responsibilities
Validate purchase orders and work orders to distribute them to the plants based on analysis of the ERP system, forecasts, current in house orders, historical data, and anticipated awarded contracts.
Supervise the Logistic Analysts, Parts Coordinator, and Material Planners.
Meet the internal goal of 97% on time for parts and 94% for contracts.
Identify opportunities to minimize the capital investment in inventory.
Track and expedite required components for stock, contracts, and parts.
Oversee inventory reduction projects.
Work cross-functionally on value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and process mapping.
Planning & Logistics Supervisor Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or another related field is required.
A minimum of at least 5 years in Material Management.
Strong Microsoft Excel abilities are required.
Previous ERP system experience is required. Microsoft AX experience is preferred.
Must be able to travel 1x per quarter to North-Central Indiana.
