Part- Time Senior Counsel

We have partnered with our client in their search for a Fractional University Counsel / Higher Education Senior Legal Counsel. This is a remote, part-time contract role supporting a range of university and higher?education legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Review and advise on significant university contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding
• Provide legal guidance on employment, student affairs, civil rights, public records, and institutional compliance matters
• Advise leadership on licensure- and accreditation-adjacent legal issues, particularly those affecting psychology-focused academic programs and affiliated training relationships

Skills Required

• In-house or directly relevant legal experience at a college or university, with strong preference for California higher education experience
• Experience handling higher education contracts, employment matters, student affairs issues, and civil rights compliance in a lean or standalone legal environment
• Familiarity with licensure-oriented academic programs, affiliate and training-site agreements, and psychology-related, counseling-related, or behavioral health education settings

Education & Work Experience
Degree
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing

Work Experience
Significant legal experience in higher education, including contract review, institutional compliance, employment, student affairs, civil rights, and affiliated academic or training relationships
