We have partnered with our client in their search for a Infrastructure Project Manager.
This role is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and finalization of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the defined technical and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex IT infrastructure initiatives and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for various IT infrastructure projects, including server, network, cloud, security, and data center initiatives.
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation models. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budget and expenditures, tracking costs and ensuring projects remain within financial constraints.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications. Provide regular, clear, and concise status updates to stakeholders, including technical teams, business leaders, and vendors.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as necessary to ensure minimal impact on project delivery.
- Team Coordination: Facilitate and drive cross-functional teams (engineers, architects, and business analysts) to ensure alignment and accountability for project tasks and deliverables.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to infrastructure projects, overseeing service delivery and performance.
- Documentation: Ensure all project documentation, including requirements, design documents, test plans, and project closure reports, are accurately maintained and archived.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience managing IT infrastructure projects (e.g., data center migrations, cloud deployments, network upgrades, system implementations).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management Knowledge: Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile/Scrum) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
- Technical Acumen: Foundational understanding of core IT infrastructure components, including networking (LAN/WAN), servers (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), storage (SAN/NAS), and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (e.g., PRINCE2, CSM) is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
