Interim Oracle Security Consultant
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Security Consultant to partner closely with our client's team on a focused, short-term engagement. The organization is experiencing challenges related to its Oracle security model, user-level security matrix, and overall security configuration. This consultant will serve as the dedicated subject matter expert responsible for assessing, redesigning, and optimizing Oracle security structures, while providing executive-level communication and guidance throughout the engagement.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring an individual who can quickly dive into the environment, identify security gaps and inefficiencies, and implement practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and remediate issues related to Oracle security architecture and access controls.
- Review, redesign, and optimize the organization's user-level security matrix and role-based security framework.
- Evaluate current Oracle security setup, configurations, and governance practices.
- Configure and maintain security roles, responsibilities, privileges, and access controls within Oracle.
- Identify segregation of duties (SoD) risks, excessive access, and compliance concerns.
- Develop recommendations for security enhancements, governance improvements, and long-term sustainability.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and leadership to understand security requirements and operational impacts.
- Document security design decisions, role mappings, and access management processes.
- Provide executive-ready updates, recommendations, and presentations to leadership throughout the engagement.
- Act as the primary Oracle security SME, advising on best practices, risks, and implementation considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Deep expertise in Oracle Security Administration and Configuration.
- Strong experience designing and managing role-based access control (RBAC) models within Oracle environments.
- Proven experience creating, optimizing, and troubleshooting user-level security matrices and access structures.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle security setup, user provisioning, responsibilities, roles, and privilege management.
- Strong understanding of segregation of duties (SoD), audit controls, and security governance principles.
- Experience conducting security assessments and implementing remediation plans.
- Ability to operate independently and quickly establish credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and presentation capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Applications, Oracle ERP, or Oracle Fusion.
- Background supporting security transformations, security remediation projects, or ERP implementations.
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle Identity and Access Management solutions.
