Operations Manager (Closed)

Lucas Group has partnered with a seasoned and growing chemical company in Southwest Ohio who is adding an OPERATIONS MANAGER (NEW role) to their plant.  Our client globally supports a broad range of customers across many high-tech industries including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical diagnostic, display and basic research.  This company is rapidly expanding, and the Ohio facility is an integral part of their growth for the future. 
 
Scope of Responsibilities   
• Operate multiple production areas at the facility
• Drives safe production practices and culture through strong operational discipline
• Develop training plans to ensure employees are certified to do their assigned roles, as well as develop a plan for cross-training employees to ensure adequate coverage for all processes
• Establish, track and communicate production KPI’s
• Create a culture of continuous improvement, where employees are identifying efficiency projects and taking them on to improve overall productivity and operating profits
 
Skills Needed:

• Experienced leadership in a high hazard chemical manufacturing plant with Process Safety Management (PSM) 
• Knowledge of material handling, chemical processing, quality programs, repair of buildings and equipment, safety programs
• Six Sigma experience and use of statistical analysis software such as Minitab  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  
• Must be competent in utilizing computer software such as Microsoft Office 

 Educational & Work Requirements:

• Degree: BS, Engineering (Required).
• Work Experience: 10 or more years chemical manufacturing plant experience in operations and/or engineering and prior progressive supervisory roles.
