We have been engaged by an industry leading renewable energy company looking to bring on an Operations Finance Manager.
The Operations Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities associated with operational improvement projects across the operating facilities, including maintenance and growth capital projects. This position will work closely with all facets of the operations and finance teams, including plant and regional operations, engineering, regional finance, and corporate finance. This role reports to the Director of Finance.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop operational improvement projects to drive 1-2% year-over-year productivity gains at the operating facilities through the following means
- Lead maintenance and growth capital forecasting, including the management and timing of cash spend
- Optimize regional decision-making processes
- Streamline plant-level processes to increase efficiencies
- Standardize analytical tools and processes across facilities
- Use data to identify gaps in performance between plants to drive year-over-year productivity improvements and cost-out
- Create system for validating and tracking cost and volume impacts of improvement projects
- Provide IRR and NPV calculations for growth capital projects and assist plants with capital project justifications and approval process
- Partner with engineering team to maintain near- and long-term capital project plan
- Reconcile monthly and quarterly cash spend with project accounting team; own the monthly deliverable that consolidates actual and forecasted spending and provides variance analysis
- Drive the annual budgeting process in the region, which includes coordinating with plant management teams to prepare and present a detailed plan that eliminates any deficiencies between current performance and partnership profitability targets
- Participate in regional KPI process and leverage trend-pareto-attack system to drive operational improvement; support plants in managing and developing KPIs
- Collaborate with engineering team to refine value stream maps to identify plant bottlenecks and develop projects to alleviate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related areas; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional work experience required
- Supervisory experience preferred
