Our client is a female owned, A2LA accredited firm specializing in NDT and Material Testing with a strong focus on structural steel. They offer in-house and field inspections, as well as a state-of-the-art Mechanical Laboratory and machine shop located just north of Atlanta, GA.

They are currently seeking an Operations Director, (ie. “Military Executive Officer”) reporting directly to the company President.  Must have documented and successful experience in operations or executive © level support duties as this position will serve as a business liaison for day-to-day activities, ensuring compliance and follow-through from multiple divisions, as well as assist with outside customer contact, project follow-up and “task management”.

 

Key traits, include: meticulous, detail-oriented, efficient multi-tasker; able to communicate effectively across multiple departments, identify areas of concern, present resolutions and ensure follow-through.  Demonstrate an ability to identify problematic situations and determine appropriate resolution(s).

Must work well in ever-changing environment and adapt accordingly.

Position Overview

Our client requires a no nonsense, effective “right hand” leader. NDT and/or laboratory experience would be ideal. Strongly desired is familiarity with (1) standard HR Law (for acceptable management practices), (2) contract review, (3) marketing, and (4) account/budgeting. Knowledge of government bid process, contracts, or foreign military sales are most helpful. There would be some opportunities to assist in business development, which would be compensated through commissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in business or related program
  • Program or project management experience required; government/DOD acquisition experience is a plus. Foreign military sales is a plus.   
  • HR and contract language and bid process experience is desired.
  • Ability to maintain / manage confidential matters, multi-task, manage time effectively, organize and focus.
  • Must successfully pass drug test & background screening.
  • Steel Construction, NDT, Aviation FAA Inspection or Laboratory Environment experience is a plus.

Compensation

Up to $80+K Base salary (DOE) plus business development bonuses (commission-based).

Currently no benefits available, however, a reasonable monthly allowance will be considered.
