.NET Tester
Initial 9-Month Contract

Overview
We are seeking an experienced .NET Tester to join a large-scale technology programme within the financial services sector. This role will focus on validating API-driven applications and integration services, working closely with development and delivery teams to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of critical systems.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in API testing, a solid understanding of .NET-based applications, and exposure to test automation frameworks across integration and service layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for API and integration testing activities.
- Validate RESTful APIs and service-based architectures to ensure functionality, reliability, and security requirements are met.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and solution architects to understand technical requirements and define appropriate testing approaches.
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
- Support system integration testing and end-to-end testing activities across multiple applications and platforms.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards, methodologies, and automation capabilities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Assist with test data preparation and environment validation activities.
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Software Tester, API Tester, or Test Analyst within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience testing REST-based APIs and web services.
- Experience using API testing tools and frameworks such as Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and test lifecycle processes.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Experience
- Working knowledge of .NET and C#, with experience testing applications built on Microsoft technology stacks.
- Ability to engage effectively with development teams and understand technical implementation approaches.
- Experience in test automation, particularly across API and integration layers.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
- Previous experience within financial services, banking, insurance, or related regulated environments.
